At 11:00am local time of December 22, 2016, grand contract signing ceremony of Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of 12 nos. New 2x20/26MVA 33/11KV GIS Substation, 2 nos. of New 1x10MVA 33/11KV AIS Substation, Renovation of 04 nos. 33/11KV Substation & Upgradation of 04 nos. 33/11KV Substation on Turnkey Basis Under Power Distribution System Development Project, Chittagong Zone was held by CEC and Bangladesh Power Development Bureau (hereinafter abbr. as BPDB) at Dacca, capital of Bangladesh. Representatives from both parties with more than fifty people in total attended the ceremony, incl. Executive Chairman, department heads, project director, key members of the project from BPDB and Chairman Ms. Fan Yan, Director of Overseas Department Mr. Zou Zhongwei and Vice Director of No. Consultation & Engineering Department Mr. Guo Huiri etc. from CEC.
BPDB Executive Chairman Mr. Lokman Hossain Miah presided over the ceremony, extended welcome to the arrival of all guests, and congratulated CEC’s success of winning the contract of this project with its persistent efforts. And he was fully confident about CEC’s technology and management as well. Mr. Lokman Hossain Miah also hoped that both parties can smoothly complete the project on the basis of friendly assistance and mutual benefit and win-win. CEC Chairman Ms. Fan Yan, on behalf of the Contractor, thanked BPDB’s trust and support. Since the project got approval on Feb. 2015, CEC actively got involved into the front-end work of the project, organizing technical and commercial team to go site-investigation several times. While knowing well the overall condition of the project, CEC worked out proposal design accordingly in the bidding phase. CEC will adhere to the management guideline of Customer’s Satisfaction is always our unremitting pursuit; have a high starting point, deliver high quality construction and management of high requirement to make sure of the project being completed with high quality safely as scheduled.Witnessed by all the guests, CEC Overseas Department Director Mr. Zhou Zhongwei, BPDB Secretary Mr. Chowdhury Fariduzzaman and representatives from both parties signed on the Contract of Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of 12 nos. Currently, Bangladesh is in electric power shortage, with power grid and power distribution network lagging behind. Bangladesh government is now replacing old and inefficient equipment, hoping to reach the power supply & distribution level of developing countries. This contracting project plans to build 12 nos. new 2x20/26MVA 33/11KV GIS substation, 2 nos. new 1x10MVA 33/11KV AIS substation, renovate 04 nos. 33/11KV substation and upgrade 04 nos. 33/11KV substation on Turnkey Basis to improve power supply situation in Chittagong Zone and promote industrial production efficiency and people’s living standard there. This is of significant importance to the economic and social development of Bangladesh.Bangladesh also, as country along The Belt and Road (B&R) and Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor, enjoys China’s support from national policy level. CEC will seize and take advantage of this opportunity and continue to increase its participation into Bangladesh energy industry.
