Vice President of Asian Development Bank (hereinafter abbr. as ADB) Mr. Zhang Wencai, Adviser of ADB’s President Mr. Huang Huiping, Deputy Director-General of Financial Dept. of Hunan Province Ms. Liu Wenjie and Deputy Director of International Cooperation Dept. of Hunan Provincial Commerce Dept. Mr. Liu Juntin visited CEC to guide the work on the morning of June 12, 2015. CEC’s Vice General Manager Pan Xiangming, Director of Oversea Business Dept. Zou Zhongwei and Vice Director of Oversea Business Dept. Chen Dayong attended the meeting. Both parties held talks regarding Asian Development Bank’s loan and assistance programs in Central and Western Asia and South Asia.
Firstly, CEC’s Vice General Manager Pan Xiangming extended warmly welcome speech to the distinguished guests and expressed that CEC is quite honored to be one of the three corporations visited by Vice President of ADB Mr. Zhang during his visit to Hunan.
Mr. Zhang Wencai used to work in Ministry of Finance of China and was elected to be the Vice President of ADB in 2013, one of the two Vice Presidents presiding over business. Vice President Zhang made detailed introduction of the ADB’s loan and assistance programs in Central and Western Asia and South Asia, which he is mainly in charge of; focused on research work of the difficulties that contractors come across during overseas project bidding as well as project implementation in order to provide more help and service to those corporations. Meanwhile, Vice President Zhang also hoped that the contractors can enhance cooperation with ADB during their involvement in the state’s One Belt And One Road strategy.
Vice President Zhang carefully listened to introduction of CEC presented by Director of Oversea Business Dept. Zou Zhongwei and pointed out that CEC should give full play to its own advantages and expertise in industrial park construction, municipal water supply, sewage treatment and waste treatment etc., strive to get projects and get involved in infrastructure construction of some Asian countries whose infrastructure facilities are still poor; in particular, at present some these countries have a relatively good business environment and Chinese corporations can think about developing business there. In the end, Vice President Zhang hoped that CEC can participate the training organized by ADB in order to improve CEC’s international management ability. During the meeting, Deputy Director-General of Financial Dept. of Hunan Government Liu Wenjie expressed that the Financial Dept. will establish dynamic database of corporations, strength services and encourage Chinese corporations to go global.
This face-to-face meeting enhanced CEC’s confidence and made CEC further resolved to develop the international business, whilst enabled CEC to identify its own advantages and disadvantages as well. How to grasp the opportunity during this crucial time of Asian countries’ economic transition, fully play the advantages and avoid disadvantages will be one of the key factors enables CEC to achieve rapid development of the international businesses.
